Two Harvest Festivals with all kinds of free family fun tomorrow! One at Occidental Park in Seattle and one at Molbak's in Woodinville - Saturday, October 17th 2015 from 11am-4pm (Seattle's until 3pm)

Celebrate the change of seasons with Fall Family Harvest in Occidental Square Park.

Bring the whole family down on Saturday, Oct. 17 for FREE fun in the historic Pioneer Square park. Halloween costumes encouraged!

The leaves are turning and the kids are wiggling -- time to pack up the crew and head to Molbak’s for a day of family fun! 

BOOGIE DOWN: Dance to the award-winning family rock band, Recess Monkey.

CARVE IT UP: Be amazed and entertained by master pumpkin carver, Russ Leno. 

GET CRAFTY: Visit the Kid’s Corral, hosted by The Nest, for fun crafts and games; and make a pinecone birdfeeder with the Eastside Audubon Society.

DIG IN: Join Lisa Taylor for a puppet show filled with garden critters and hands-on fun.
 
GRAB A BITE: Treat the family to gourmet mini donuts from Mini The Dough Nut and check out the samples in our Home department.

STRIKE A POSE: Let artist, Tamara Belland, paint your portrait in watercolor; and bring your camera—there will be photo ops aplenty.

VOTE: Cast a vote for your favorite pumpkin carved by Molbak’s talented staff members.

"Hilloween" with The Not-It's and more performances plus a magic show, stiltwalkers, bounce houses, trick or treating and even more fun at Cal Anderson Park in Seattle - Saturday, October 25th 2014 from 12-7pm



















" Hilloween, Capitol Hill’s favorite kid-friendly Halloween event returns Saturday, October 25th and it’s sure to delight kids of all ages. This community party is FREE and open to everyone - designed with kids in mind - but just as fun for adults too. 

Come enjoy carnival games, a magic show, jugglers, balloon twisters, face painters, stiltwalkers, a couple bouncy houses and Fonzie the Performing Dog all underneath a big top tent! "

"PARTY IN THE PARK" AT BRIDLE TRAILS STATE PARK HORSE SHOW GROUNDS IN KIRKLAND WITH JOUSTING KNIGHTS, EQUESTRIAN DRILL TEAMS, PONY RIDES, VAULTERS, FACE PAINTING, GAMES AND MORE! - SATURDAY, JUNE 28TH 2014 FROM 8:30AM-12:30PM - FREE EVENT, BUT $5 FOR PANCAKE BREAKFAST AND $5 SUGGESTED DONATION FOR PONY RIDES!

Mustache Madness event with prize drawings and more at Country Village in Bothell - Saturday, November 23rd 2013 from 10am-6pm



 
Just a heads up...if you are heading to Country Village tomorrow then participate in Mustache Madness...an event to create awareness for men's health issues during "Movember". Sport a mustache and receive shop specials, sensational sales, and incredible drawings!
 
If you don’t have a mustache, don't worry... get creative and make your own or stop by Amai Day Spa to make your FREE mustache-on-a-stick.  Or you can have their face painter located at Bella & Max paint on a fun mustache for the day from noon - 5pm!

" Help increase awareness of men’s health issues by donating at any shop during the month of November - look for the mustached mason jar on their counter. "


Don't forget kids can check out the unique roosters and ducks, play on the playground or ride the train ($3.50 per person)!

Join in the fun at the Party in the Park event hosted by the Bridle Trails Park Foundation. From 9:30am-12:30pm there will be all kinds of entertainment like equestrian drill teams, jousting knights, etc. Plus, there will be pony rides, a cake walk, face painters, a kids race called "Donkey Dash", and lots more. It's all free but they are asking for a suggestion donation of $5 for the pony rides.

And if interested, there will also be a $5 pancake breakfast, t-shirts and hats available for purchase.

Since this is a popular event they will also have a free shuttle available, as well.

9th Annual Tanner Jeans Memorial Bike Safety Rodeo with more Free Fun! - Saturday, June 1st 2013 from 11am-3pm


We posted about this last year and this year they have added even more free fun to the event! What a great way to honor their son and educate children on bike safety.


" It’s that time of year to remind kids about bike safety and have fun doing it. The Tanner Jeans Memorial Bike Safety Rodeo will be on Saturday, June 1, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is located on the backside of Cascade View Elementary School, 34816 SE Ridge Street and the adjacent Snoqualmie Community Park parking lot.

The Tanner Jeans Memorial Bike Safety Rodeo is a commemoration of seven-year-old Tanner Jeans who was in a tragic bicycle accident in 2004. This event is dedicated to keeping every child safe through bike safety education.

New activities this year include a bicycle parade and performances by the Mount Si High School cheer squad and the Snoqualmie Valley Unicycle Club. All kids can join the parade by lining up at 10:45 a.m. in front of the Snoqualmie Community Center/YMCA on SE Ridge St. "

All of the following activities are free!
  •  Obstacle courses with bike safety instruction by the Snoqualmie Police Department
  •   Bike helmets inspections; replacement helmets will be provided to those children whose helmet does not pass inspection
  •   Professional bike inspections 
  • Kids bicycle parade – 10:45 a.m. 
  •  Performance by the Mount Si High School Cheer Squad at 12:45 p.m. followed by
    the Snoqualmie Valley Unicycle Club 
  •  Bike stunts by Compass Outdoor Adventures, Snoqualmie Dirt Corps, and Gregg’s
  •   T-shirts and safety certificates for all kids 
  •  Hot dogs, beverages and snacks all day 
  • Bouncy houses and face painters
  •  Legends Car Club antique cars

We love the Thursday Bellevue Farmers Market! We usually go later and get pizza slices for dinner, ice cream for dessert and listen to whatever live music performance they have scheduled. Not to mention the fresh fruits, veggies, meat, candy and more they have there!

3rd Annual OutdoorsFEST at the Mountaineers Program Center in Magnuson Park in Seattle - Saturday, September 8th 2012 from 10am-5pm

8th Annual Tanner Jeans Memorial Bike Safety Rodeo in Snoqualmie! - Saturday, June 9th 2012 from 11am-3pm


Attend the super fun and educational Tanner Jeans Memorial Bike Safety Rodeo! 
  
Activities will include:

• Bike safety instruction by the Snoqualmie Police Department with age-appropriate obstacle courses
• Bike helmets inspected by police; replacement helmets will be provided to those children whose helmet does not pass inspection
• Bike inspections by members of Dirt Corps and Gregg's Cycles
• Free T-shirts and safety certificates for all participants.
• Free hot dogs, beverages and snacks
• Bouncers, face painters and balloon makers
• Legends Car Club antique car display

This is a free event; however, donations are gladly accepted and will be used for future bike safety rodeo events.

The Tanner Jeans Memorial Foundation was formed due to the tragic loss of then seven year old Tanner Jeans in an unfortunate bicycle accident.  The Foundation is dedicated to teaching kids to “Have Fun, Play Fair and Play Safe” and to ensuring that Tanner’s legacy lives on.

Fishermen's Fall Festival at the Seattle Fishermen's Terminal - Saturday, September 17th from 11am-6pm


A great and fun fall event! Head to the Seattle Fishermen's Terminal for the Fishermen's Fall Festival where there will be fun things for kids to do (see below), Japanese drummers, a lutefisk eating contest, an oyster slurp contest, a salmon fillet challenge, a beer/wine garden, a salmon bbq, survival suit races, an At Sea Water Rescue by the US Coast Guard, a raffle, and special appearances by the Radio Disney crew, Reptile Man, and a bittersweet, final public appearance (noon on Saturday) by a beloved and local favorite - J.P. Patches!


Activities for children will include:
  • Miniature Wooden Boat Building
  • Fishermen’s Fall Festival Favorite Fish Prints
  • Oyster Art
  • Have Art We’ll Travel: make your own mermaid on a scallop shell

Swingin' Summer Eve! - A free concert and more at Cromwell Park in Shoreline - Wednesday, July 20th from 5:30 - 8:30pm


Go and see "Swingin' Summer Eve!" a community festival featuring a free concert by Handful of Luvin'! There will also be a BBQ, inflatable rides, face painting and games. Some free, some will have a fee.

Strawberry Festival at Crossroads Park in Bellevue - Saturday, June 25th from 10am-8pm & Sunday, June 26th from 10am-5pm

Take the kids and check out the Eastside Heritage Center's Strawberry Festival. Red will be the theme color of the day and there will be all kinds of musical, artistic, athletic and dramatic entertainment, strawberry shortcake eating contests, a classic auto show, and family fun such as games, clowns, and  face painting. Plus, there will be historical and agricultural displays, vendors, food, and of course, fresh strawberry shortcake, as well. Doesn't that sound delicious!

FYI- A free shuttle service is available from Highland Middle School parking lot to Crossroads Park every 15 minutes.
