Each July 4th, thousands of people are injured while using fireworks. In 2013, there were 239 reported injuries in Washington. This year we are experiencing drought conditions throughout the state, creating an even greater risk for fires resulting from fireworks. During 2013, there were 102 reported fires caused by fireworks. For the Fourth, catch the fireworks at your local city's planned event instead and keep it safe for everyone. Report illegal fireworks displays immediately by calling 911. "
