This free event will feature free health screenings, healthy food made by local celebrity chefs, and an educational program emceed by Chris Bennett of KRIZ/KZIZ Radio and The Seattle Medium. The day also includes entertainment, music, exhibits and a chance to win prizes.
One in seven American adults has chronic kidney disease and many don't know it. If you are African American, the risk is four times as high. The good news is that lifestyle changes and medication often can slow down or stop the damage to your kidneys. So it’s important to get a checkup to take charge of your health.

You don’t have to be African American to enjoy the Fest. Everyone is welcome to attend. Come learn about staying healthy and preventing kidney disease!  "

Free Dental Screenings for kids ages 1-18 (up to age 20 for kids with special needs) at The Center for Pediatric Dentistry in Seattle - Saturday, September 15th 2012 from 9am-12pm - No reservation necessary!

Head to Seattle for free dental screenings. Kids will get their teeth checked and receive giveaways, plus they get to meet the Tooth Fairy too!

" The Center will host a free dental screening from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 15 for children ages 1 through 18 and children with special needs ages 1 through age 20. No reservations are necessary and there is plenty of free parking. Families will meet specially trained dentists and dental assistants, who will answer any questions. Children will receive a brief exam (no X-rays), mouth mirror, toothbrush and sticker chart. And, they can meet the Tooth Fairy! "

The Center for Pediatric Dentistry is holding their free screenings again for kids ages 1-18! Haven't been but I love that they do this!

" Tooth decay doesn’t take the summer off, so bring your child to The Center for Pediatric Dentistry for a free dental screening on Saturday, June 9. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon and is open to all children ages 1 through 18. No reservations are necessary and there is plenty of free parking. They’ll also enjoy seeing part of the 3D interactive exhibit “Attack of the S. Mutans,” in which virtual guide Dentisha battles mouth bacteria, and taking pictures with The Tooth Fairy and Mr. Molar. Children will be given a mouth mirror, toothbrush, coloring sheets and sticker charts. "

Free Dental Screenings for kids 1-18 years of age! - Saturday, February 25th 2012 from 9am-1pm

Free dental screenings to be given on Feb. 25!

" In honor of National Children’s Dental Health Month, The Center for Pediatric Dentistry will offer free dental screenings for children ages 1 through 18 on Feb. 25.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Center. All children in attendance will receive a free brief dental screening to identify potential trouble spots in the mouth (no X-rays will be taken). Fun activities will include some of the 3D interactive exhibit “Attack of the S. Mutans,” which showcases virtual tour guide Dentisha battling mouth bacteria, and the Labyrinth i-Pad game. The Tooth Fairy will also be on hand.

No reservations are needed and every family will be seen. "

4th Annual Eastside Vitality Community Health Fair at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue - Saturday, January 21st 2012 from 10am-3pm

Check out the Eastside Vitality Community Health Fair at Overlake Hospital! There will be free health screenings, lectures, activities, interactive displays, cooking demos and sampling, tours, refreshments, giveaways, opportunities to speak to Overlake physicians and more!

 

Activities specific to kids and families:

• Children can hop, jump and climb their way through the Seattle Children's obstacle course then get awarded a special giveaway. This will be located at Seattle Children's "Sports Injury Prevention" booth where athletic trainers will be on hand to talk to you about how to lower the risk of childhood-related sport injuries and the importance of encouraging your kids to be active.  

• Watch your children perform a "Candyoscopy" with the help of Overlake's surgical team.

• Plus, your kids might want to explore the world of surgery by watching demos of the daVinci surgical system used in robotic-assisted surgeries.
