9:00 a.m. - noon: Swedish Pancake Breakfast
10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.: Viking Days Festival
4:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.: Salmon BBQ Cookout

" See the Museum grounds transformed into an all-ages festival bursting with Nordic food, music, demonstrations, crafts, and the Viking Encampment for this free two-day event.

A traditional Swedish pancake breakfast starts each day at 9:00 a.m. while the festival runs both days from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. And on Saturday night only, enjoy a special alder-smoked salmon BBQ from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with live music.

One of the most exciting elements of the weekend is the Viking Encampment, where you can see what a day in the life of a Viking was really like, from demonstrations in cooking, weaving, and wood carving to interactive games — and battle! "

Viking Days Festival at the Nordic Heritage Museum in Ballard - Saturday, July 16th and Sunday, July 17th from 10am-5pm


Go and see all the Vikings in Ballard this weekend for the Nordic Heritage Museum’s annual Viking Days Festival! There will be Nordic entertainment like traditional folk music and dancing, and kids can take part in hands-on crafts, try on Viking costumes, and other activities during the festival. For a fee there is a pancake breakfast both days and a barbecued salmon dinner concert featuring a 44 person choir from Norway on Saturday night!

You can see Vikings dressed in authentic costumes demonstrating Viking life such as weaving, spinning, woodcarving and fire-pit cooking. The Vikings will lead discussions and you will also be able to view live performances of Viking battles which are scheduled at approximately 12:55 and 2:55 pm on both days.

Admission to Viking Days and Museum exhibits (including the Museum’s newest exhibition, 17 Swedish Designers) is free.
