1st Annual Block Party - "Super Hero" themed with a Recess Monkey performance, special appearances, games, rock wall, bounce house and slide, photo booth, craft activities and more at Redmond Town Center! Saturday, September 19th 2015 from 12-5pm - All FREE except for Kryptonite (geode) cracking and Paint Away's make and take handprint or tote!




Attend Redmond Town Center's first annual Block Party! 

This year, we will test your strength with lively superhero activities. Activities are FREE, except where pricing is noted below.

  • Test your endurance on the bouncy house & bouncy slide
  • Pose in the gotham photo booth
  • Create a superhero mask
  • Test your strength with agility games
  • Adorn your superhero with face painting & balloon artistry
  • Climb the Christa Camps Rock Wall
  • Try kryptonite cracking at Utopia's booth ($8, $10, $15 - depends on geode chosen)
  • Paint Away! ($4 handprint or $5 tote) more information
  • Meet everyday superheroes from Redmond Police and Fire Departments
  • Wrap up the day's successes with Recess Monkey, performing at 4 p.m.

Youth Appreciation Day - A Free, family friendly event for kids ages 11 and up presented by Target, the Seattle Police Dept. and Seattle Parks and Rec at Southwest Teen Life Center in Seattle - Saturday, April 20th 2013 from 12-4pm





Go and enjoy a celebration for youth!

Activities (appropriate for ages 11 and up) include:

• Outdoor Games – (Potato Sack Race, Three-legged Race, Relay Races, Water Balloon Toss, etc.)

Women's Personal Safety Class for ages 15 and up presented by Redmond Police Department - Thursday, April 18th 2013 from 6:30-8:30pm - RSVP - Spots available!


RPD is presenting another Women's Safety Class!

" This is not a self-defense class, but is a proactive approach to safety rather than reactive and is suitable for ages 15 and older. Some of the topics covered include how to prevent becoming the victim of assault or robbery; potentially dangerous situations and how to avoid them; how to handle “road rage” and prevent accidents; the pros and cons of weapons for personal security and how to make a safety plan. "

This is one of the RPD’s most popular classes and fills up fast so RSVP today at mdowd@redmond.gov!

Free Women's Personal Safety Class for ages 15 and up presented by the Redmond Police Department - Thursday, January 24th 2013 at 6:30pm - Reserve your spot via email!


Great class for teen girls and women! You're never too young (or too old) to learn how to be aware and protect yourself.

"Barknum & Wagley's Pawnival" in Fife - A fun carnival benefiting local animal rescues! - Sunday, August 18th 2012 from 12-4pm - "Less than a Latte" with $1 ea for game tickets!


I don't usually post for events as far south as Fife but a reader asked me to and for anything benefiting animals I am happy to do it!

" There will be games like balloon pop, ball toss, & water balloon catch. There will be live music by Cerebral-Tone, free hot dog or ice cream cone with purchase of 10 tickets ($1 each & games are 2-3 tickets each), there will be a coloring table, water park (squirt guns, soaker balls, noodles, etc.), all different kinds of vendors, & demos from the K-9 unit of Fife police & varying trainers. There will be bobbing for hot dog & rubber duckies for dogs & contests like who jumps highest, best dressed, & most tricks, etc. "

" The City celebrates the annexation of South Bellevue neighborhoods with food, fun, festive activities and information about City services:

· Sampling of Community Center recreational and fitness classes, such as zumba, tai chi, belly dancing, spinning and rock climbing;

· Bellevue firefighters with their equipment, helping youngsters dress up in fire gear;

· Photos of kids on police motorcycles; information about crime prevention;

· Traffic safety information for adults and safety game for kids;

· Interactive displays on neighborhood outreach, mediation, code compliance, customer service, conservation and recycling, business licenses and taxes, development and permits;

· Complimentary food and beverages provided by Domino’s Pizza at Eastgate, Coca-Cola, and QFC at Factoria; door prizes donated by the Seattle Mariners.

Touch-a-Truck Event on Mercer Island - Friday, July 20th 2012 at 1pm


For those of you looking for another ever so popular Touch-a-Truck event, here is another one happening as part of the Funtastic Fridays Fun Mobile events originally mentioned in this post.
 
You and the kids will enjoy seeing large trucks up close and personal such as a fire truck, a police car, a dump truck, tractors and more! There will be safety activities as well during this fun-filled afternoon.
