Two fun events at the Seward Park Environmental and Audubon Center - Saturday, February 18th 2012 - various times

Seattle Audubon Bird Banding
9am – 12pm

" See citizen science in action as live birds are captured in mist nets, tagged with numbered bands, and released. High school students involved with Seattle Audubon’s BirdWatch program assist with the banding and answer your questions. Meet our local chickadees, juncos and nuthatches and learn about the importance of Seward Park and the surrounding neighborhood for these winter residents. This project is done in conjunction with Puget Sound Bird Observatory. "

Great Backyard Bird Count Super Saturday
10am – 3pm

" What birds live in your backyard right now? During the 15th Annual Great Backyard Bird Count you can be part of one of the largest crowd science programs in the world! The GBBC is a great way to share your love of birds with friends and family PLUS help scientists learn about bird population trends. Enjoy building bird feeders, arts & crafts, and discover fun facts about our winter birds. "
