Enjoy a fun and free day featuring the Not-Its! and a lot more at the Frye Art Museum! 


" Celebrate the beginning of the school year with a Family and Educator Day inspired by our current exhibitions’ themes of international voyage and exchange. Create postcards, personalized buttons, poems, and drawings. Family-oriented gallery tours and sketching in the galleries take place throughout the day. A special Small Frye: Storytelling in the Galleries will occur between featured performances by kindie band, The Not-Its! and Contrasts Quartet from the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra Scholarship Chamber Ensemble Program.

FRYE Art Museum Reopening and 60th Anniversary Celebration - Saturday and Sunday, July 14th and 15th 2012 - 11am-5pm


Go and celebrate with the Frye Art Museum as they reopen from their remodel and celebrate their 60th Anniversary! You can also explore their three new exhibitions!

" Come to the Frye Art Museum, reopening this weekend after extensive refurbishment. Join the 60th Anniversary celebration with an Ice Cream Social 3-4 pm Saturday, Gallery Talks at 2 on Saturday and Sunday, and Guided Tours both days at 11:30. It's all FREE, including admission and parking! Always was free, still is. See you at the Frye! "

The Seattle Classic Guitar Society presents Janet Grohovac as she performs a free concert at the Frye Art Museum! Free tickets may be picked up at the Information Desk one hour prior to the start of the program. There is no late seating, so please arrive early.

"Small Frye: Storytelling in the Galleries" for preschoolers at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle - First Fridays from 11:15-11:45am

Check out the fun storytimes at the Frye Art Museum on First Fridays!



" Classic children’s stories and contemporary favorites are brought to life in the Frye galleries for children three-to-five years old and their parents or caregivers.

Through stories and characters, Small Frye introduces children to a wide variety of words and sounds that will prepare them for reading and writing. Movement and play are incorporated into story time, fostering creative thinking and problem solving in an interdisciplinary environment.

Stories about peaks and valleys are the themes from November through January. After story time, explore artworks and exhibitions in our galleries and enjoy kid-friendly snacks in the Frye Café. Small Frye is presented by the Frye Art Museum in partnership with Seattle Children’s Theatre. "

Small Frye Storytime at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle - Friday, October 7th from 11:15-11:45am


Small Frye is a free storytime program presented by the Frye Art Museum in partnership with the Seattle Children’s Theatre for children three-to-five years old and their parents or caregivers. It occurs on the first Friday of each month from 11:15 to 11:45am. After storytime you can explore artworks and exhibitions in the galleries.  Also, FYI - Kid-friendly snacks are available for purchase in the Frye Café. Admission to the Frye is free and free parking is available too!

Curious Max: Family and Educator Day event with Recess Monkey and a whole lot more fun at Frye Art Museum in Seattle - Saturday, September 24th from 11am-3pm


Ok, how is this for an event? A movie, a concert, a staged drama storytime, art and crafts, tours and more...all in the same day and in one spot for free! The Frye Art Museum is presenting Curious Max: Family and Educator Day where you can...

" Monkey around at the Frye Art Museum and help us celebrate the start of the school year with Curious Max: Family and Educator Day. Rock with the band Recess Monkey. Transform a sock into a soft toy monkey. Enjoy the adventures of George and his museum friend Ted in the film Curious George. Laugh at the funny monkey business in the story "Caps for Sale" as told by Seattle Children’s Theater. Educators and parents can enjoy special hands-on art activities and receive a lesson plan "

Additional art includes origami butterflies and colorful collages to make. What a fabulous event!

Frye Art Museum Free Classic Guitar Concert on Saturday, April 16th at 2pm

Frye Art Museum is hosting a free concert Saturday by Guitarist Lynn McGrath of the Seattle Classic Guitar Society. Concert will be held in the Frye Auditorium.

Go before or after the concert and check out the museum, as well, which is always free and provides free parking too! Saturday hours are 11am-5pm.
