" A Seafair sanctioned event, the annual festival and parade has been in the community over six decades, Umoja Fest African Heritage Festival & Parade brings the Soul to Seafair! “Umoja” is a Swahili word which means “unity”, is the main theme of the festival. Event highlights include the Africatown Heritage Parade, Children’s Day, Radio Disney Stage & Family Fun Zone, three stages of live music including Soul, Jazz, African Drum & Dance, Fashion, Hip-Hop and Spoken Word, Basketball Tournament, Voter Registration, Vendor Marketplace & Community Resource Fair. Blue Angels Flights over Lake Washington this weekend! - Saturday and Sunday, August 2nd and 3rd, 2014 - 12:15pm - Road closures 30 minutes prior!

The US Navy Blue Angels are in town and you can see their flight routines this weekend over Lake Washington! You can see them from various viewing points around the area. Two things to note: (especially if you are new to the area) don't forget bridge closures from 11:45-2:45pm so you can plan accordingly and keep in mind for the little ones that they will be LOUD!!

SEAFAIR PIRATES LANDING (TO KICK OFF SEAFAIR AND SUMMERTIME!) ON ALKI BEACH ON SATURDAY, JUNE 28TH 2014 from 9:30-3:30 with pirates landing about 11:30ISH!

Avast ye matey! Go see the Seafair Pirates land on the shores of Alki Beach! It is the kickoff of the Seafair 2014 celebration and there will be live music, inflatable rides, a pirate look-a-like contest with prizes and more!

" Ahoy, Matey - It's Pirate-Style Party at Alki Beach! 

The cutthroat Seafair Pirates crew has made a deal with their new Captain Kidd and are comin’ to collect the bounty they left behind last year! Avast, the Seattle Seafair Pirates will sail in from the seven seas and the scallywags be stormin’ Alki Beach in West Seattle to kick off the 65th Seafair. Don’t be gettin’ in their way!

Merchants will be putting out their finest wares starting at around 9:30 a.m. and ye can shop, eat and dance along with the Pirates throughout the day! Including food vendors, toys, clothing, jewelry and art! 

The Seattle Seafair Pirates will land at Alki Beach between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

The music stage will be there ta welcome ye with music from some o the finest local bands.  Belly dancin' and story tellin' will also take place on the main stage. 

Food vendors will be on hand and a beer garden located on the beach will be open from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

If they dare, the little buccaneers can try out the inflatable rides for the kids! Later in the day they can be part of a Pirate look-a-like contest to win some booty. 

Dress in your favorite pirate costume and meet us out on the beach - Ready, Aim, Fire! "

Westlake Park will be filled with exciting displays and booths from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. including a Rockstar Energy truck, the Albert Lee Appliance hydroplane, a vintage hydroplane and and a boat from the Seattle Boat Show!  Catch The 5th Avenue Theatre's Pirates of Penzance performing live on our stage in Westlake Park followed by an exciting program MC'd by the infamous hydroplane legend Chip Hanauer. 2012 Miss Seafair Veronica Asence will be there with the Seafair Princesses ready to perform the first knighting ceremony of the season. Seafair's Torchlight Spectacular and Torchlight Parade - Saturday, July 28th 2012 - Spectacular at 2pm and Parade at 7:30pm

The Seafair Torchlight Spectacular at Seattle Center will have performances, special appearances, and a special tribute to JP Patches! Go and see special performances from Disney stars Coco Jones, Jack Skuller and Elle Winter. There will be fun interactive booths offering lots of prizes, giveaways and free samples. And the Torchlight Parade floats will be on display along Mercer Street. Go get a peek of what the Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade will be like!

The Greenwood Seafair Parade is the oldest neighborhood Seafair parade in the region and features over 90 entrants that include bands, drill teams, floats, pirates and more!

Seafair Milk Carton Derby at Green Lake in Seattle - Saturday, July 16th from 10am-4pm

A must see event! The Seafair Milk Carton Derby (you know-a race with those homemade watercrafts resting on milk cartons!) is always lots of fun to watch. Plus, on land (!) there will be interactive displays and exhibits, autograph and picture opportunities with the Seafair Clowns, Seafair Princesses, The SeaGals and more! There will be exhibitors like Pirate's Booty, Albert Lee Appliance, AT&T and LG, Pacific Science Center, Seattle's Child, 7-11, Talking Rain Beverage Company, Washington Dental Service, Whole Foods Market and UNFI! I am sure there will be giveaways! Plus, the crew from Radio Disney will be there with a Phineas and Ferb event where they'll be playing your favorite tunes and you can spin the prize wheel for your chance to win cool Phineas and Ferb prizes, or take your picture with the Phineas and Ferb van. The Road Crew will be giving away free movie passes for a special sneak peek of the new Phineas and Ferb movie "Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension" played on the big screen! Available while supplies last! Needless to say, there will be a lot of things to do and see at the Seafair Milk Carton Derby event!
