Workshop Schedule:

10 am to 12 pm:
HIDDEN LIBRARIES: TURNING BOOKS INTO SECRET BOXES (ages 14+)
Jen Kinney will teach attendees how to turn ordinary books into secret containers. We will learn to make traditional hollow books as well as unique, individual box designs. (Boxes provided for first 10 attendees, otherwise please bring your own.)

Children will explore various non-toxic, child-safe art materials in the art studio ending with water play. T-shirt smocks and washcloths will be provided.

Unity and Variety are two principles of composition in art, and they are two driving principles of community as well. The weavings are as individual as the people who made them, beautiful and unique. We may only see the colors and textures of the weavings, but the CDs contain data and information, much like the hidden, inner story of the individuals around us.

For more info. on the Fremont Fair go here.

For more info. on the Solstice Parade* and Festival go here.

*Please note that prior to the parade there are some nude and semi-nude bicyclists strategically covered in colorful paint (some very creatively and beautifully) that ride the parade route before the start of the parade. This is a famous tradition of the parade. If you have no problem with nudity expressed artistically then enjoy. But if you do, then I suggest you arrive later than earlier closer to the start of the parade to miss this part and the ensuing conversation with your kids.  ;-)

Bellevue Arts Museum ARTSfair

One of the biggest Arts events in the area! Make sure to check out KIDSFair at Bellevue Arts Museum with tons of things for the kids to check out and do! Last year we learned about healthy foods, recycling, all about insects, did art, made a craft car, checked out some cool KidsQuest Museum interactive displays onsite and not to mention the Bellevue Arts Museum itself!
