5th Annual "Celebrate Urban Nature" with Caspar Babypants, a reptile show and lots more at Magnuson Community Center in Seattle - Saturday, April 12th 2014 from 10am-1:30pm - "Less than a Latte" each at $10 per family or $3 each!



Definitely recommend this one! 



" This annual spring event, co-sponsored by Magnuson Community Center and Earthcorps, features family-friendly presentations, interactive booths, and displays, art and nature activities, nature- themed carnival, Nature Explorers Lab, and more! A fun-filled day for the whole family! "



Featuring:
  • 10:30 am Caspar Babypants sings nature songs in the Auditorium
  • 11:30 am Reptile Show with Isaac Petersen, son of the reptileman
  • 12:30 pm Raptor Presentation by Sarvey Wildlife Care Center
  • 10:30am-1:30pm in the gym: The “Nature Explorers Science Lab” will be chock-full off hands-on adventures including wildlife tracks, pond water from the Magnuson Wetlands, birds and their nests, Magnuson’s fabulous dragonflies,  how ants build their homes, where ladybugs go in the winter, and more!

" Magnuson Community Center and the Magnuson Park P-Patch and Children's Garden is hosting the Harvest Celebration on Saturday, September 29 from 11:30am-2:30pm. The free family event will be held at the Magnuson Park Amphitheater, 6344 NE 74th St, and will feature Harmonica Pocket, Smalltime String Band, Debbie Doolittle's Petting Farm, Scarecrow Making $5 (bring old clothes and a pillow case), orchard maze and scavenger hunt, apple tasting, garden games, a kiddie tractor corral, and much more! "Celebrate Urban Nature!" at Magnuson Park's Community Center in Seattle for "Less than a Latte" - Saturday, March 31st 2012 from 10:30am-2pm


Great event happening at Magnuson Park tomorrow! Head to their community center with the kids and see "Celebrate Urban Nature"!

Presentations by Spyglass Theater "The Secret Life of Bugs", Insect Safari, Roving Reptiles, Woodland Park Zoo Owls: Who Are They?, World of Spiders/Burke Museum, Bats Northwest, and the Audubon.  Plus, there will be a nature themed carnival & tons more!

Not free, but "Less than a Latte" at $5 per family or $2 per person!

Urban Nature Celebration Coming Up at Magnuson Community Center


Celebrate nature in the city at Urban Nature Day at Magnuson Park from 10:30 am to 2 pm on Saturday, April 9.

This event will take place at Magnuson Community Center, 7110 62nd Ave NE, and will feature:


  • A children’s concert by national award winning singer/songwriter Eric Ode 
  • Presentations by Knox Cellars Bees, Bats Northwest, Roving Reptiles, and the Woodland Park Zoo 
  • Interactive booths and displays, including Insect Safari, the NOAA Marine Mammal Division, and various Magnuson Park organizations 
  • Art made from recycled materials 
  • Nature activities featuring the new Nature Explorers Laboratory 
  • Re-dedication of the Gray Whale Garden 
  • A Wetland Wake-Up Walk from 9 to 10 a.m. 
  • A nature-themed carnival and prizes. 


The event is free and open to the public, and everyone is welcome. Sponsors are the Magnuson Community Center and EarthCorps.
