Seattle Outdoor Theater Festival = 14 performances in 2 days at Volunteer Park in Seattle - Saturday and Sunday, July 11th and 12th 2015 - Various times





" SOTF began in 2001 when GreenStage, Theater Schmeater, and Wooden O Productions joined forces to bring a full weekend of live theatre to Volunteer Park in Seattle. Since then the festival has grown to include three stages and host fourteen performances by eight local theater companies. All in two days in one park... AND ALL FREE! "

"Holiday in Volunteer Park" with singing, refreshments, luminaries and Free Admission to the Seattle Asian Art Museum in Seattle - Tonight, December 12th 2013 from 6-8pm




Visit the beautiful conservatory and enjoy the holiday festivities then check out the SAAM, all for free!


" Come one, come all for a fun, festive, family celebration! Sing carols, listen to holiday music from choral groups, enjoy delicious complimentary treats and drinks, and stroll paths lit by hundreds of luminarias. Admission to the Conservatory and Seattle Asian Art Museum will be free. "

The Magic Pudding

Based on the book by Norman Lindsey, Adapted by Julia Leonas

Synopsis

Hijinks transpire as Bunyip Bluegum, a koala, meets up with Bill Barnacle the sailor and Sam Sawnoff the penguin and their magic pudding, Albert. Family fun abounds when the pudding gets stolen, is lost, and then found again in this rollicking misadventure that is sure to delight hearts from 8 to 80!

1st Annual "Holiday in Volunteer Park" in Seattle - Thursday, December 13th 2012 from 6-8pm


One of our favorite parks will be made even better on Thursday with luminarias, music and more to celebrate the holiday season!

" Please join the community in a celebration of lights and music. Luminarias and choirs will light the path between the Volunteer Park Water Tower and the Conservatory. The Conservatory will be open until 8pm and SAAM will remain open until 9pm (free admission!). Hot drinks and cookies will be provided by the Volunteer Park Trust. "

Free outdoor concert presented by Seattle Chamber Music Society in Volunteer Park - Wednesday, July 25th 2012 at 7pm (Instrument "Petting Zoo" at 5:30pm)



Attend the Seattle Chamber Music Society's free outdoor concert on July 25th at the amphitheater in Volunteer Park. It will be preceded by a musical instrument "petting zoo" at 5:30pm.

Hansel and Gretel "The Sequel" Performances in Volunteer Park - Saturdays and Sundays - Starting June 30th through August 5th 2012 at 5pm


This would be considered "the sequel" to Hansel and Gretel and will be performed by Theater Schmeater in the beautiful Volunteer Park!

" Not your grandmother's Hansel and Gretel, this pantomimic adaptation tells you the rest of the story of what happens to the siblings after they stuff the mean old witch into the oven, turn the knob to broil, and return to a highly dysfunctional family life. "

Conservatory Centennial Lighting Ceremony at Volunteer Park in Seattle - Friday, December 2nd from 5-8pm


Amazing...a great place is coming up on 100 years! 

 

" To celebrate the centennial anniversary in 2012 of the Volunteer Park Conservatory, the Friends of the Conservatory have sponsored the installation of energy-efficient lighting which will frame the Conservatory and remain installed through 2012....

We will be hosting a Holiday Open House the same evening - so come by, have some refreshments, do a little shopping and listen to the soothing sounds of live harp music performed by Harpist Bill McJohn!

The Volunteer Park Conservatory was first opened in 1912 and has welcomed up 90,000 visitors per year. The Conservatory was lit in this fashion for the Conservatory's 75th anniversary in 1987. The new lighting system consists of energy-efficient LED bulbs, and will remain installed throughout 2012. "

Join them as they kick off their Centennial Year and the Holiday Season by "flipping the switch"! I am sure it is going to look beautiful!


Also, FYI - The FOC Gift Shop will offer new and current members a 25% Discount for one night only!
