" Join us for One Hot Night! Pratt’s annual Fall Open House. This fun, FREE, family-friendly event features artists in all of our studios. Come watch them pull prints, blow glass, pour bronze and forge red hot steel! "

Live artist demos in the following studios include:

• Printmaking: Screenprinting, block printing, monoprinting, etching, letterpress, bookbinding
• Jewelry/Metals: Fabrication, Cuttlefish casting
• Wood:  Wood turning, Wood working

From 1-3pm we welcome flyers ages 4 and up to learn to swing on our flying trapeze. Bring a non-perishable food item to support the Rainier valley food bank & take one free swing during the open house! One turn per person. No advanced reservations. Flyer must be present to sign up for a turn.

At 3pm we will welcome you to watch our Mini & Junior & Teen Fly Teams perform feats of derring do and amazing aerial tricks and welcome you back to the tent again at 7pm for our Adult Team to show off their stuff. "

Youth Sailing Open House with 18 organizations for kids ages 4 through high school - A free event with sailboat rides, demos, bbq lunch, arts and crafts and lots more at Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center in Seattle - Saturday, March 28th 2015 from 11am-3pm

Learn about all the ways to get your kids out on the water this summer!

" Rat from the Wind in the Willows was right. “There is nothing, absolutely nothing, half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats." Fortunately for Puget Sound area residents, we live in a boating paradise with an abundance of programs and opportunities for kids to learn how to mess about in sailboats. From local after-school programs to day camps to multi-week voyages to Desolation Sound, on boats as small as eight feet and as large as 133 feet, the options are endless. Windsurfing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and rowing are also offered by some groups.

To help parents and kids learn about the variety of options available, a group of 18 of Puget Sound’s leading sailing organizations have teamed up and are holding a Youth Sailing Open House. Parents and kids will be able to talk with camp and club organizers and instructors and choose the best programs that suit their family, budget and calendars. Programs are available for children as young as four years old all the way through high school.

The half-day event is free and will also include fun land activities (knot tying, sailboat origami, face painting, burgee decorating and a spin-to win board) and on-water activities (sailing demos and free sailboat rides) and a free BBQ lunch.

Sailing is a sport that kids can enjoy at a very young age and for the rest of their lives. It builds self-reliance. It teaches teamwork and leadership. It’s social. And it’s just plain fun and makes for the BEST summer activity out there! "

" On June 14, 2014 the Northshore Fire Department will be hosting an Open House at their headquarters fire station. The fire station is located at 7220 NE 181^st St. in Kenmore. The event will run from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm and will include a free pancake breakfast (9:00 to 11:00), a health and safety fair and live firefighter demonstrations. There will also be an area with activities for kids and an opportunity to tour the fire engine, aid car and rescue truck. Don’t miss the dramatic side-by-side live burn sprinkler demonstration.  The safety fair will include: Bastyr University, Puget Sound Energy, Seattle-King County Health, King County Library and many more exhibitors with valuable health and safety information. "One Hot Night: Spring Fever!" a kid friendly open house with fun activities to view and do at Pratt Fine Art Center in Seattle - Saturday, April 5th 2014 from 6-9 pm

Each year, Pratt Fine Arts Center opens its doors to the public for "One Hot Night", a free open house showcasing their dynamic studios for the visual arts. There will be activities for the kids and demos where you can watch the artists pour bronze, blow glass, pull prints, carve stone, fabricate jewelry and forge hot steel! You will also be able to tour all of the studios. Food and beer are available for purchase.

We had fun doing this 2 years ago when our mild-mannered little guy was three and he was able to see glassblowing, metal forging and more and got to do a really cool art activity too! 

They only do this twice a year and I highly recommend it!
