" SIFF Crash Kids is a movie production challenge, taking participants from concept to screening in one day. Crash Kids is free and open to anyone 9-19 years of age. It is a make-a-movie-in-a-day, non-competitive challenge. It’s about having fun, making a movie and seeing it on the big screen. The script is developed on the spot by your Crash team and you design your story based on your team’s resources. "

The Original "The Wizard of Oz" on the big screen - A classic movie for "Less than a Latte" at SIFF Cinema at the Uptown in Seattle - Sunday, November 11th 2012 at 1pm

Lions and Tigers and Bears...Oh my! Go and see the original masterpiece with the kids in its entirety on the big screen!!!

 
This is part of SIFF's Film4Families and is "Less than a Latte" (or close enough!) at $4 each plus a 1.25 charge. 

FYI - SIFF Cinema at the Uptown is located at at 511 Queen Anne Avenue North.

Animation Workshop for kids at the SIFF Film Center at Seattle Center - Sunday, May 20th from 1-3pm

Kids ages 8-14 can participate in a cool animation workshop for free at the SIFF Film Center!


" It’s time to stop watching cartoons and start making them. Learn the basic elements of animation in this amazing two-hour workshop. See examples of fun and easy stop-motion animation techniques from flipbooks to claymation. Create your own character and learn how to animate it. Using various media, participants will learn the basics of stop-motion and GET ANIMATED! "

Starbucks' "We-love-you Fridays" is back for a 3rd year with free ticket giveaways starting tomorrow in Seattle!

Woohoo - Was I happy to see this email in my inbox this evening! Starbucks is doing their We-love-you Fridays promo for a third year with free tickets to lots of fun events! They are doing this once again to thank customers for their patronage over the past 40+ years!

We checked this out the last two years and it has been awesome! We've previously picked up free tickets for Mariner's Games and the Seattle Art Museum and we've had a blast!

So what you do is on the following Fridays you can go into a Seattle area Starbucks (see participating stores link below) after 3pm and pick up a voucher at the cash register. No purchase is necessary...just ask and they will just hand it right to you. There will usually be a line but it goes really fast! Also, according to their FAQs page there will be about 100+ vouchers available per store on those Fridays.

FYI - You can text “SEATTLE” to 697289 to receive We-Love-You Fridays reminders too!
