43rd Annual Day in the Park with kids parade, games, music, treasure hunt and more at Mount Baker Park in Seattle - Sunday, September 14th 2014 from 10am-3pm





" The 43rd annual Day in the Park Festival is coming Sunday, September 14 to Mount Baker Park in Seattle. This year's theme is "Summer of Love" (for Mount Baker), a one-day event celebrating community in Mount Baker and the surrounding neighborhoods. 


Be sure to wear flowers in your hair, and the rest of your best hippie flair -- bell-bottoms, tie-dye, beads, headbands & fringe highly encouraged!

Other activities include:
• Annual Kid's Parade - Meet in front of Franklin High School at 9:45am to participate. 
• All-levels Tennis Mixer hosted by Amy Yee Tennis Center - Please email us at DayInThePark@MountBaker.org
• Classic field day games including an all-neighborhood tug-of-war, watermelon eating contest, piggy back races and more
• Pop-up Bike Park presented by Bike Works

Seattle Bike Expo at Smith Cove Cruise Terminal 91 - Sunday, March 10th 2013 from 10am-4pm - "Less than a Latte" each for a family of four with kids age 15 and under!




Hey - didn't post this yesterday because I misread it and thought that I couldn't put it in the "Less than a Latte" each category. But, hey, I can!

For kids there will be a treasure hunt, bike art table, bike carnival with games, plus a wheelie fun stunt course for kids 10 and under!

Adults are $10 each and kids 15 and under are FREE. So, split the difference for a family of four and you've got "Less than a Latte" each!

Storytime “The Witches’ Little Sister”

In costume, local author, JoAnne Nelson, will have several readings of her book, “The Witches’ Little Sister”. Children want to feel successful as they learn to read and this beautifully illustrated full-color book is a good, fun one to practice reading.

Kla Ha Ya Days in Snohomish features multiple events like "Frogtastic Kids Fair" in Snohomish Station, a street fair, eating contests, a treasure hunt, parades, races, skydiving demos, a flight simulator, a cooking competition, salmon bbq, airplane and helicopter rides, a pancake breakfast, a car show, and many other games, contests and events. Some free, some for a fee.

Glass Float Treasure Hunt on the beach at Jetty Island - Saturday, August 20th at 10:30am and Fresh Paint Festival at Marina Village in Everett - Saturday, August 20th and Sunday, August 21st from 10am-5pm both days!


Have the kids go on a treasure hunt on Jetty Island and hunt for their very own blown-glass treasure! If they find a glass float they can take it back ashore to the Fresh Paint Festival at Marina Village for a certificate of authenticity.

The Fresh Paint Festival runs both Saturday and Sunday and will feature local artists showcasing their works in progress, music, and kids activities which includes making tie-dye t-shirts, making art of out recycled materials, facepainting, button making, veggie painting and other food art activities!

They strongly suggest reservations on early boats for the treasure hunt. Also, please note that West Beach will be closed to visitors until the 10:30am start time.

Sounds like fun...who doesn't like a treasure hunt (and more) ?!

Frogtastic Kids Fair at Kla Ha Ya Days in Snohomish - Thursday, July 21st from 1-8pm

Frogtastic Kids Fair of the Kla Ha Days festival starts today and features a treasure hunt, bed races, a bike rodeo, kids parades, a pine wood derby, dog races, human frog leap, frog sack races, a wheel barrow race, kids games, plus a mainstage!

35th Annual Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival - Saturday, July 2nd - Monday, July 4th from 10am-6pm

Go and see the Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival. There will be all kind of wooden vessels, free boat rides, a scavenger hunt, boatbuilder demonstrations, live music, exhibits and activities for kids like toy boat building, a treasure hunt, a coloring contest and sidewalk chalk art and more!

On Sunday there will be a regatta and on Monday some of the festivities will run until the evening Fireworks show. You can watch the fireworks in the NEW Lake Union Park!

"Flute-apalooza" at McCaw Hall - Saturday, May 7th from 10-1pm

Check out McCaw Hall's “Flute-apalooza” a free community open house event sponsored by Russell Investments featuring...

"live music, guided tours of McCaw Hall, family-friendly activities including a treasure hunt, opera fun, and a giant kazoo orchestra, plus performances by the University of Washington’s Flute Choir and, of course, singers appearing in Seattle Opera’s The Magic Flute."
