Big Day of Play with FREE bike helmets while supplies last, water craft rides, demos, performances, and TONS of other fun and free activities in Seattle - Sunday, June 28th 2015 from 12-4pm










Another favorite event of ours...take the kids and check it out!


" Please join Seattle Parks and Recreation and title sponsor, PCC Natural Markets, for this free, family-friendly event!

Mark your calendar from noon – 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, to see what Seattle Parks and Recreation and other community organizations are offering in the way of fun activities and healthy food. This year’s Big Day of Play event will be held at Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center, 3800 Lake Washington Blvd. S.

There will be sample activities from Seattle Parks and Recreation facilities and programs, paddling and boating events, a main stage celebration of cultural diversity with music and entertainment, creative play opportunities, youth demonstrations and healthy food vendors. Stop by the PCC TasteMobile, where kids 12 and under can participate in a PCC Kid Picks taste test and all ages can spin the Color Wheel to test their food knowledge and win prizes. Or Children’s Hospital’s Free bike helmet giveaway for children at least 1 years old to age 18 (Wearers must be present and be fitted to receive a helmet. Quantities are limited; one helmet per child. First come, first served.) "

All boating participants must sign a risk and release waiver to use the boats. Anyone under 18yrs old must have a parent or guardian sign the risk and release waiver. There is an age requirement and height restriction for the boating activities during the day. Be prepared to get wet!

Spot "Toothless" - the 60 Foot Dragon Kite in Gas Works Park in Seattle - Sunday, June 1st 2014 from 9am-5pm






Any "How to Train a Dragon" fans out there? Or kite fans? Well then head to Gas Works Park in Seattle and check out the 60 foot "Toothless" Kite!  Look for the "How to Train your Dragon 2" Booth to win prizes. You can take a picture and enter to win a trip to Hawaii too!

2nd Annual Jefferson Park Jubilee with live performances, fun activities plus an outdoor movie too in Seattle - Saturday, September 14th 2013 from 1-10pm




" The second annual Jefferson Park Jubilee is here! This coming Saturday, from 1:00 - 7:00pm we'll be waiting for you in the northwest section of the park with ongoing food, crafts and information tables/vendors, kid-friendly activities, performance, live music and outdoor cinema. Bring it on folks! Come hungry and curious!

Schedule of Events

*All food, crafts and information tables/vendors, and activities will be centered at Grand Meadow and surrounding

1-3pm | Picnic games in the Grand Meadow

1-4pm | All-ages Activities:

~ Fly a kite! Seattle Cherry Blossom Festival will provide free kite making kits and the Washington Kite Association will have kites on display and fly a few for us!
~ Cup Art Graffiti! Community art project 2-4pm
~ Samoan Cricket League games all day on the play field.
~ Beacon Food Forest tours!
~ Treat your tastebuds! El Sabroso Seattle and Caravan Crepes are just two of your choices, there will be food all day (and night).

"Kitefest" 10th Annual Seattle Family Kite Festival - Today, Saturday, July 28th 2012 from 11am-5pm



The sun is supposed to come out this early afternoon - might be a good day to go fly a kite with the kids!

Check out KiteFest at Kite Hill in Magnuson Park! We did this last year and this is a fun and lowkey event. There will be music, a kids fun zone, kite-building, a juice garden (Jamba Juice), family wellness village (PCC), a candy drop, prizes, stunt kite demos and more!

KiteFest 2011 at Magnuson Park in Seattle - Saturday, July 30th from 11am-5pm

"2011 Dragon Festival" in the Chinatown-Int'l District at Hing Hay Park - Saturday, July 9th from 12-8pm and Sunday, July 10th from 12-6pm

Go and see Seattle’s Chinatown-International District Summer Festival 2011 presented by McDonald's! There will be cultural performances, like lion and dragon dances, rhythmic taiko drumming, Chinese martial arts demonstrations, award-winning drill teams, and a kids’ activity corner featuring a host of activities from origami, lantern-decorating, face-painting, and kite-making in the American Family Insurance Youth & Family Cultural Pavilion. There will also be a Karaoke Idol contest with prizes and lots of booths featuring arts & crafts, food, and community organizations.

Southcenter WFamily Fun Day - Thursday, April 7th from 10-12pm (Register online and go!)




Westfield Family (WFamily) Fun days first event this year is Thursday, April 7th from 10am-12pm at Southcenter Mall. This year's focus is "The Great Outdoors".  And to kick off the event the kiddos will get to meet Curious George and ChaCha.  They will also get to make paper bag kites, listen to theme-related storytime and enjoy a healthy snack; all to promote health and the Great Outdoors!

All this year's events will be held in the Children’s Wing near Starbucks.



The Southcenter Mall Concierge recommends arriving a little early.  All you do is sign in and show your WFamily membership card. You can get one to print out when you join here.
