"Funtastic Fridays" with the Fun Mobile on Mercer Island - Fridays - June 29th through August 24th 2012 - at 1pm - Various Locations

Check out the Fun Mobile this summer on Fridays at various parks on Mercer Island. They will bring the fun to your local park each week with a different theme, games, crafts or other activities. Fun activities may also include water-type sports like mega squirt guns, a water balloon launcher, and a giant slip-n-slide. There will also be a touch-a-truck event on one of the dates, plus some great concerts on some other dates as well!

Here is the schedule:

June 29: Red, White and YOU!
Location:  Mercerdale Park
Our Funtastic Friday Kick-Off event! Combining the fun of the 4th of July with our favorite reason to celebrate… YOU! A special kids concert by the Brian Waite Band begins at 1:30pm. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Mercer Island Library and Mercer Island Parks and Recreation.

July 6: Survivor
Location:  Homestead Field
Activities and crafts inspired from the Survivor television show with special bug activities.

July 13: Wet n Wild
Location: Luther Burbank Park
A giant slip-n-slide on a hill, water guns, obstacle courses and more! Bring a swimsuit and towel – you’re gonna get wet!

July 20: Touch a Truck
Location:  Homestead Park
Enjoy seeing large trucks up close and personal….fi re truck, police car, dump truck, tractors and more. Kids will enjoy many other safety activities this fun-filled afternoon.

July 27: Alien Invasion
Location:  Mercerdale Park
It’s an alien invasion to prepare for the 7/28 showing of ET at the movies in the park event. Outer space inspired fun!

Aug 3: Wacky Olympics
Location:  South Mercer Playfields and Track
Are you enjoying the first week of the 2012 Summer Olympics? Participate in Mercer Island’s version of wacky, wild, and super fun Wacky Olympics.

Aug 10: In the Jungle
Location:  Mercerdale Park
It’s a Jungle out there....activities, crafts and games in the jungle theme with a special kids music concert by the Recess Monkey!

Aug 17: Aqua Zone
Location:  Luther Burbank Park
Water balloons, giant slipslip-n-slide, and water games galore!

Aug 24: Victorious Vikings
Location:  Mercerdale Park
Vikings and dragon fun to prepare for the 8/25 movie in the park event of “How to Train Your Dragon.”
