Family Fun Day with a 5th Avenue Theatre performance, a speaker and book signing, arts and crafts and more at the Wing Luke Museum in Seattle - Saturday, May 9th 2015 from 11am-4pm

11am: The 5th Avenue Theatre presents the powerful musical "Baseball Saved Us", an adaptation of the award-winning children's book by author Ken Mochizuki. The story follows a young boy who, with his family, is imprisoned in a "camp" unlike any other. When he learns how to play baseball, he finds out that the lessons are beyond mere gameplay. 

1pmKen Mochizuki, author of Baseball Saved Us, will discuss why he became a writer and share some of his other books as well. He will be on-hand to answer questions and sign books which are available in the museum Marketplace.

2pm: Join artist Midori Kono Thiel as she demonstrates the art of Japanese calligraphy. Then she will go over basic brush strokes so that you can create your own calligraphic art.
Midori is one of the artists who will be featured in the upcoming exhibit, Construct\s: Installation by Asian Pacific American Women Artists, on display starting May 15, 2015.

Family Fun Day is free to the public.
