Seattle's Waterfront Presents "FIELD DAY" for families with activities, a cool raffle, hill climb, you contribute time capsules, plus more! - Sunday, March 9th 2014 from 10am-4pm




Some fun happening on the Waterfront tomorrow!

" Join us for a day of kid and family-friendly activities along the waterfront at Field Day on Sunday, March 9. You'll be able to:

RIDE ALONG WITH CASCADE BICYCLE CLUB

Join Cascade Bicycle Club for a waterfront policy ride from 1:00-2:30 PM. Learn more and register to ride.

GET THE SEAWALL CONSTRUCTION VIP EXPERIENCE

Construction is fascinating to kids and adults alike. Get the insiders view of how the new seawall is built, learn how to be safe in construction zones and see construction equipment up close!

HEAR GREAT MUSIC

Enjoy vintage Brazilian jazz tunes from Seattle's acoustic ensemble ChoroLoco! in the early afternoon.

SHARE YOUR MEMORIES IN OUR TIME CAPSULE

At Hillclimb Plaza we'll collect photos, small mementos, or your favorite mixed tape (or CD) for a waterfront time capsule. Paper will be available to write memories or enclose your autograph in the time capsule. Wondering what to bring?
It should be:
  • Appropriate - make sure your grandmother would approve
  • Not larger than a softball and no heavier than a can of soda
  • Non-electronic, but mixed CDs are accepted!
  • No liquid or flammable materials

ADOPT-A-GRIBBLE AND LEARN ABOUT HABITAT

We're building a new seawall in large part because gribbles have eaten away the one we have today. Come learn more about gribbles, what's happening with habitat along the waterfront, and even take home a picture of the gribble you've adopted.
