Sponge presents:
A Free Chinese New Year
Celebration for Families
I was so glad to see this in my inbox recently! Take the family and check out this special celebration!
" Sponge
invites families to a free cultural event in February at its
center in Seattle,
to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Horse. The spirit of the horse is recognized as
energetic, bright,
warm-hearted, intelligent and able and according to the
Chinese Zodiac, people
born into the year of the horse will embody these qualities.
At
the Chinese New Year celebration in Seattle on Sunday, Feb. 2,
families can
learn about the mythology of the horse, create a horse themed
craft project and
sample Chinese delicacies, special to the New Year Celebration.
Children can
participate in a free Mandarin language class, which
incorporates movement,
music and play. "
RSVPs are recommended. Call
206-227-7138 or email events@spongeschool.com.
