During the first four Saturdays in August, MOHAI sets up the big screen in Lake Union Park and invites the community to come relax and enjoy great films under the lights of the city and Space Needle. This year the series celebrates MOHAI’s special exhibit Celluloid Seattle: A City at the Movies with films that showcase the Emerald City’s starring role on the silver screen.
On August 10, MOHAI will also host a special Family Fun Night. Lawn games, ping pong, giant bubbles, and performances from SANCA’s Youth Performance Company will take place from 5 – 8pm. Following the festivities MOHAI will screen the children’s classic, Goonies.
All movies will begin at dusk and are located on the western side of the park. Admission is free and seating is first come, first serve. Movie goers are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and other amenities. MOHAI’s Compass CafĂ© will be open to the public for refreshments until 9pm.
