" Before she takes the stage for a Global Rhythms concert on April 12, singer/musician Reem Kelani presents a family sing-along that pays homage to Elmo’s classic Sesame Street discovery that kids come in all shapes, colors, and sizes. Born in England and raised in Kuwait, Kelani covers the principles of Arabic music, including the art of listening, tonic practice, Arabic modes and rhythms, call-and-response, and improvisation—all wrapped up in Palestinian and Arabic songs kids can join in on. Town Hall Banj-O-Rama participant Kane Mathis accompanies Kelani on the oud. "
