4th Annual Sky Valley Farm Festival in Monroe featuring Wagon Rides between 3 farms and ALL kinds of FREE Interactive Fun - Saturday, October 13th 2012 from 10am-5pm - MUST READ!

This is a little farther than usual but what a great way to teach children where all their food comes from! If it's raining, grab your rain jackets and boots and go anyway!

" This Free festival celebrates our hardworking farming community and rich agricultural history. The three farms participating in this year's event include the Rivers End Cattle Ranch, Groenevelds Dairy Farm and Stockings Garden and Nursery. The Heritage Museum Tractor Club will ferry people from farm to farm in wagons...

The Rivers End Cattle Ranch-Visitors here will be treated to horse rides, a guided wagon tour, rope swinging in the hayloft, roping lessons and educational displays (also make sure to stop by and see Miss Pig Pig and her little piglets)....

Groenevelds Dairy Farm-Here visitors will spend the day learning about where milk and cheese come from. There will be guided tours, informational booths and so much more. The milking starts at 4 p.m....

Stockings Garden and Nursery...Here you will find the perfect pumpkin, stroll through the corn maze (fee), shop for fresh veggies and enjoy cooking demonstrations from celebrated chefs Gordon MacDonald and Mimi Stockmann, who will teach you how to transform fresh produce into a fabulous feast. There will be canning and cheese making demonstrations as well. "

What a great event!
