Science Trek for kids ages K-12 through various South Lake Union research organizations and more! - Friday, June 8th 2012 from 10am-4pm


Meet the research institutions of South Lake Union: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Seattle Children's Research Institute's Adventure Lab, PATH, Institute for Systems Biology, Seattle BioMed, UW Medicine, and The Center for Wooden Boats as they take participants on a journey through the diverse science behind global health, modern biology, cancer research, health and wellness, and even sailing. For the South Lake Union Science Trek all of these organizations will open their doors from 10 am to 4 pm and offer hands-on science activities geared toward K-12 students that also align with Washington State educational standards for science and math. This is a self-guided tour and it's free to attend. Students can pick up a passport at any venue to keep track of their experience. Please visit their event site for locations and activity details.
