Take your kids to the BC Science Division Open House featuring "Passport to STEM" - a fun, interactive and educational event! During the open house people of all ages are invited to collect stamps in their STEM passports as they engage in hands-on activities and view demonstrations from BC's 5 Science Division Programs: Earth and Space Sciences; Engineering Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematics, and Physical Sciences.
Planned activities include:
- An insect room with activities involving butterflies, Bess Beetles, and termites
- Live Dissections and Wave Tank Demonstrations in the Oceanography lab
- A Shark Tooth Fossil Dig
- Genomics and Molecular Biology Techniques in the ComGen lab
- Demonstrations of BC's Giant Van De Graaff Generator and Vacuum Cannon in the Physics lab
- Exciting Chemistry Demonstrations from the Chemistry Club
- Math Puzzles and Activities including 3-D Spirographs
- Materials Stress Analysis Experiments in the Engineering Lab
