I have wanted to go to this event for years and it never has seemed to work out - hopefully this will be the year!!
Check out The Fremont Fair and Solstice Parade! There will be a kickoff party the night before on Friday the 15th, performances, tons of live music, yoga (preregister), art cars (art painted cars), a doggie parade ($10 fee per dog family), all kinds of food available for a fee, beer (and more!) gardens - cash only, 300+ art and more vendors, and of course, the Solstice Parade & Festival - image below!
Free collaborative sensory arts and fun for everyone with activities such as:
- Growing Brain Sculpture – Add to our community sculpture, come back and see how it evolves all day long!
- Chalk Art – Pure fun, no explanation needed!
- Smell Haiku – get inspiration from a variety of smells, learn what a haiku is, and write a poem!
- Paint-By-Neighbor – Side-by-side with your neighbors, you can add your voice to a community-sized painting or create a smaller work of art
- MusicMakers – Make simple musical instruments with a recycled twist!
- ArtCycle – Take old junk and turn it into creative treasure! Art-making and recycling blend in our DIY recipe to ArtCycle.
- Paint with Your Food – Learn that playing with your food just went to a whole new level.
I LOVE this verbage from the Fremont Arts Council about the Solstice Parade:
" We celebrate the longest day of the year through profound street theater, public spectacle, and a kaleidoscope of joyous human expression. "
