Seattle Center's Earth Day Celebration - Sunday, April 22nd 2012 from 10am-5pm


Here is the Seattle Center's Earth Day Celebration Schedule! Figured it was just easier to post the whole thing!

Earth Day Celebration

Join us for Earth Day: a citywide celebration of local efforts to reduce, reuse, conserve and work together for a better global future.


10am – 5pm Celebrating Century 21 Exhibit International Fountain Pavilion
11am – 12pm Earth Day Celebration-Welcome
Next 50 Plaza/Next 50 Pavilion

The City’s official Earth Day celebration marks the beginning of Sustainable Futures month at Seattle Center and commences with an opening ceremony presenting insights on the environment by elected officials and keynote speaker, Roberto Ascalon/FEEST.  Program will also feature Habitat for Humanity Build Project kick-off, Our Sustainable Futures Experience Exhibit ribbon cutting, and more.






11am – 5pm NASA’s Driven to Explore Exhibit at The Armory/Center House

Habitat for Humanity Building Project: The House of the Immediate Future
 
               Next 50 Plaza       
Help Habitat for Humanity volunteers and partners design and build a home at Seattle Center using sustainable building practices, technological innovation and civic commitment to create future communities.


11am – 5pm  Our Sustainable Futures Experience Exhibit Next 50 Pavilion

Our region, aware that every choice matters, exports to the nation and the world ideas, policy, innovation and technologies that help us to live more sustainably. This exhibit addresses what might surprise us about our region’s collective efforts when we look back 50 years from now.

Sustainable Futures Partner Program Highlights

FREE, hands-on activities explore our environment and showcase the region’s innovations in sustainability, presented by more than a dozen partner organizations.

Ten green game-changers for the future

Activity Tent, Next 50 Plaza
King County's Tom Watson, the EcoConsumer columnist for the Seattle Times and a regular purveyor of green advice on local TV and radio, will show or describe 10 items and concepts that will help us achieve a greener future the next 50 years and beyond. Hear Tom’s perspective, and share your ideas and questions.
