Bird Banding and Play with Dirt Super Saturday events at Seward Park Environmental and Audubon Center in Seattle - Saturday, January 21st!

Seattle Audubon Bird Banding 9am–12pm

" See citizen science in action as live birds are captured in mist nets, tagged with numbered bands, and released. High school students involved with Seattle Audubon’s BirdWatch program assist with the banding and answer your questions. Meet our local chickadees, juncos and nuthatches and learn about the importance of Seward Park and the surrounding neighborhood for these winter residents. "

Play with Dirt Super Saturday 10am–3pm

" What happens to a tree when it falls? What is the difference between dirt and soil? What is in soil and why is soil important? What lives in soil? Find out the answers to these questions and more during Play with Dirt Super Saturday. Enjoy special kid-friendly snacks (think worms and dirt), along with games & activities for all ages. "
