Participants of the annual march will gather at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park. The march route will include stops at Sam Smith Park, Powell Barnett Park, Gerber Park, and ends at Garfield Community Center. Each stop will include special guest speakers who will be celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.!

On Friday, January 13th (prior to the march on Saturday the 14th) the Ravenna Eckstein Community Center will be hosting a teen movie night to focus on why we are marching for Martin Luther King, Jr.

The short film was created by Seattle Parks Recreation Leaders, and AmeriCorps volunteers who wanted to teach teen in a new way about civil liberties, racisms and how what history took place in Seattle. The film talks about Important Leaders such as Sam Smith, Powell Barnett, Sydney Gerber, Wing Luke and of course Martin Luther King Jr. Watch the video correlating Dr. King to your home town Seattle!!

All ages are welcome.
