" The Junior League of Seattle (JLS) is excited to host its 5th Annual Touch-A-Truck event. Trucks on display include construction trucks, emergency vehicles, vintage trucks and more. 3rd Annual Touch-a-Truck event presented by The Jr. League of Seattle in Magnuson Park - Sunday, June 2nd 2013 from 10am-1pm

For those of you who have been waiting for a Touch-a-Truck event this year, mark your calendars!

The Junior League is hosting their 3rd one and it should be, as always, tons of fun! (No pun intended!)

Families can explore emergency, construction, utility vehicles and more plus meet the people who operate them. There will be fun games and activities as well. They will have an Energy Family Fun Run too that will take place prior to the event. Touch-a-Truck is free to the public, but donations are gratefully accepted.

In the past Dante's Hot Dogs and Molly Moon Ice Cream have been available for purchase, so I am sure they or another entity will be onsite this year as well.

FYI - Not sure what the weather will be like in June, but I recommend sun hats or umbrellas (it is Seattle after all) and water bottles and snacks as the food lines are typically long and somewhat slow and there can be a little wait to see trucks as this is a very popular (but well worth it) event!

Also, make sure to check out the playground that is adjacent to the Touch-a-Truck parking lot. :-)

Photos from the previous events can be found here and here.

June 18th American Heroes Air Show (Helicopters, Plus!) at Seattle's Museum of Flight - Saturday, June 18th from 7:30 am -on!

The American Heroes Air Show features a hands-on static display of lots of helicopters. You can see them up close and even sit in flight decks. Flight crews and pilots will be on hand to answer questions. And for a nominal fee, Helicopter rides are also available. As of this posting, I do not have the pricing for it.

Plus, there is a Code 3 Career Fair there as well where Police, Fire, Emergency Medical Service, BATFE, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, US Coast Guard, TSA, US Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, US Marshals, WSP, FBI, and the US Secret Service have all participated in the past. A lot of them will bring equipment, as well, and the you and the kids can check them out too for a hands-on experience!

Per Facebook page-
Representative's response to "What time is everything happening?"

Answer:
"Depends on what you want to do. If you want to watch helicopters arrive, be there around 7:30. If you want to talk to Keith, be there at 8:30. If you want to get a helicopter ride, line up by 9:30. If you just want to get close with the aircraft and vehicles, it opens at 10. If you want to see the Coast Guard get honored (Edgar MCing), be there by 1. If you want to talk to Edgar, be there by 2"

So, there you go!
