Baba Yaga and the Bag of Gold Puppet Show at Muckleshoot Library in Auburn - Saturday, November 22nd 2014 at 2pm








" Where can you find a hut that walks on chicken legs or a fence of bones and skulls? Where else but in the forest of the famous Russian witch, Baba Yaga. She is up to her old tricks again when she steals the family savings, a bag of gold, from the family of Vasalisa and Ivan. The brave, but foolish, Ivan sets off to recover the family treasure. Can Ivan avoid being captured by Baba Yaga or will his sister Vasalisa need to attempt a daring rescue? "


Recommended for kids ages 3-12.


Educational emphasis : Stranger awareness and the danger of acting on impulse.

Take your kids to Mount Baker Community Clubhouse and see the Puppets Please! performance! They came to our son's preschool and all the kids really enjoyed them!


" Puppets Please presents colorful animal characters that sing and dance, roller skate, chat face to face with kids in the audience, jump onto their laps for bear hugs, and maybe ... just maybe ... nibble on a shoe or two. "

42nd Annual Northwest Folklife Festival at Seattle Center - starting Friday, May 24th at 11am and ending Monday, May 27th 2013 at 9pm



 
Four days of fun happens at the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle! There will also be a special Kindiependent music show featuring local favorite kiddie bands on Memorial Day! Plus, all weekend there will be family friendly activities like dancing, milk carton derby building, toy boat building and knot tying, mosaic art, puppet making, global crafts making, participation in a community coloring activity and more! Festival is free but some of these craft activities have a $2-7 materials fee each - (mostly $2-3).

A very cute performance of Marionette style puppets! We have seen them before when my son was younger and all of the kids really seemed to enjoy the performance. Take the little ones and check it out!

This event is free or "Less than a Latte" each with suggested donation of $3 per person.

"KIDSTOCK" - A free, family event with 3 Kindie Bands and TONS more at Edmonds Center for the Arts - Saturday, January 19th 2013 from 10am-4pm - Register online for your FREE family pass now!!

ECA presents KIDSTOCK, a day-long family celebration


" This is a FREE event with activities for all ages. Please register to make sure we have enough supplies for crafts and activities!
 
Edmonds Center for the Arts presents KIDSTOCK on January 19, 2013.  KIDSTOCK will be a day-long family celebration from 10 AM to 4 PM.  On the main stage, entertainment will include Kindie Rock favorites such as Recess Monkey, Harmonica Pocket and The Not-Its.  Also on stage will be award winning juggler Alex Zerbe and the ever- popular Zambini Brothers Puppets. 

Just up the stairs, Seattle Shakespeare Company will provide ongoing combat and comedy demonstrations along with a Shakespeare photo booth.

Down in the lobby, Roving giant puppets Fat Kitty and Weiner Dog will interact with the audience and keep the party hopping.  Kids can get their faces painted and select from an array of snacks and treats.

In the gym, small folks can warm up and get their  ya-yas out with bouncy houses, Hula Hoops, and juggling toys.

A free event for the whole family, KIDSTOCK will be a great opportunity to come and play at Edmonds Center for the Arts, learn about ECA’s Educational Outreach programs and student matinees, and get a sneak peek at next summer’s ECA Youth Camps.  And it will be a great chance to shake off the post-holiday blues and just have a lot of FUN! "
