Scarecrow Mini-Fest at Magnuson Park's Children's Garden with Harmonica Pocket concert and more! - Today, Saturday, October 5th 2013 from 11am-2pm

" Our Scarecrow Mini Fest features a free concert by Harmonica Pocket,
plus live bluegrass music, a scavenger hunt in the Community Garden
Orchard, Children’s Garden exploration and nature art, garden games,
kids activities, a ride-on kiddie tractor corral, and of course, making
scarecrows!
You bring the clothes, pillow case for the head and we supply the
straw and frame materials. Put your scarecrow on display during the Mini
Fest and see if you win the grand prize! Fun for the whole family! "
Event located at Magnuson Children’s Garden & Demonstration Orchard/behind the Brig.
Admission to the Mini-Fest is FREE!

42nd Annual Northwest Folklife Festival at Seattle Center - starting Friday, May 24th at 11am and ending Monday, May 27th 2013 at 9pm
Four days of fun happens at the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle! There will also be a special Kindiependent music show featuring local favorite kiddie bands on Memorial Day! Plus, all weekend there will be family friendly activities like dancing, milk carton derby building, toy boat building and knot tying, mosaic art, puppet making, global crafts making, participation in a community coloring activity and more! Festival is free but some of these craft activities have a $2-7 materials fee each - (mostly $2-3).

ECA presents KIDSTOCK, a day-long family celebration
" This is a FREE event with activities for all ages. Please register to make sure we have enough supplies for crafts and activities!
Edmonds Center for the Arts presents KIDSTOCK on January 19, 2013. KIDSTOCK
will be a day-long family celebration from 10 AM to 4 PM. On the main
stage, entertainment will include Kindie Rock favorites such as Recess Monkey, Harmonica Pocket and The Not-Its. Also on stage will be award winning juggler Alex Zerbe and the ever- popular Zambini Brothers Puppets.
Just up the stairs, Seattle Shakespeare Company will provide ongoing combat and comedy demonstrations along with a Shakespeare photo booth.
Down in the lobby, Roving giant puppets Fat Kitty and Weiner Dog
will interact with the audience and keep the party hopping. Kids can
get their faces painted and select from an array of snacks and treats.
In the gym, small folks can warm up and get their ya-yas out with bouncy houses, Hula Hoops, and juggling toys.
A free event for the whole family, KIDSTOCK will
be a great opportunity to come and play at Edmonds Center for the Arts,
learn about ECA’s Educational Outreach programs and student matinees,
and get a sneak peek at next summer’s ECA Youth Camps. And it will be a
great chance to shake off the post-holiday blues and just have a lot of
FUN! "

The Harmonica Pocket performs at Town Hall in Seattle - Saturday, November 19th at 11am and at 1pm - Free for kids 12 and under and "Less than a Latte" at $5 for adults - Tickets still available and printable online!
Check out "The Harmonica Pocket", part of Town Hall's Saturday Family Concerts, as they bring their eclectic mix of music and props to downtown for your enjoyment. They will be performing a special "Singing Thanksgiving" program at Town Hall on Saturday at 11am & 1 pm.
" With swinging story-songs, hula hoops, and a suitcase of props, The Harmonica Pocket mixes music, dance, and imagination games into a gigglish jambalaya of highly interactive experiences that get children (and their grown-ups) singing and moving together. Led by composer Keeth Monta Apgar, the band performs acoustic shows sprinkled with wah-wah guitar, ukulele, jaw harp, washboard percussion, harmonicas, an invented instrument called a “Hinklehorn” (part kazoo, part plumbing fixtures) —and a whole lot of fun."
Tickets are free for kids 12 and under and $5 for adults with children. They are $25 for all unaccompanied adults. Tickets are still available and are required for children and adults and you can get them by calling (800)838-3006 or at www.brownpapertickets.com. You have an option to print them out at home!
