Free Flights for Kids during the Annual Airport Appreciation Day/Aviation Day - Saturday, May 5th 2012 from 9am-2pm
Kids ages 8-17 will get FREE airplane rides to celebrate Airport Appreciation Day/Aviation Day in Arlington, WA. This event is sponsored by the Young Eagles and there will be lots of fun activities to do too-see flyer above!

Cherry Blossom and Japanese Cultural Festival at the Seattle Center - Friday, April 13th through Sunday, April 15th from 10am-6pm each day!
The 2012 Cherry Blossom & Japanese Cultural Festival features the culture of Japan through live performances, cultural displays, hands-on activities, Japanese foods, children’s activities, Taiko drumming, artisan demonstrations and more. Plus there will be a special cherry tree planting ceremony celebrating The Next Fifty and commemorating the 100th anniversary of the City of Toyko’s gift of 3,020 trees to Washington, DC.
The Seattle Cherry Blossom & Japanese Cultural Festival will be held in the Armory/Center House, Fisher Pavilion and Seattle Center Pavilion.

Festival of Lights and Cookies with Mrs. Claus at Country Village in Bothell - Saturday, December 10th, and Sunday, December 11th from 12-3pm both days!
I am sensing a theme here...more cookies!
Head over to Country Village in Bothell where they will be featuring whimsical light displays including a Fiddling Pig, Sea Serpent in the pond, a flapping Dragonfly, marching Ducks and more! Children can meet Mrs. Claus, hear a story and sample one of her cookies free of charge.
Pony rides from 11am-4pm. (possible fee or donation)

June 18th American Heroes Air Show (Helicopters, Plus!) at Seattle's Museum of Flight - Saturday, June 18th from 7:30 am -on!
The American Heroes Air Show features a hands-on static display of lots of helicopters.You can see them up close and even sit in flight decks. Flight crews and pilots will be on hand to answer questions. And for a nominal fee, Helicopter
rides are also available. As of this posting, I do not have the pricing for it.
Plus, there is a Code 3 Career Fair there as well where Police, Fire, Emergency Medical Service, BATFE, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, US Coast Guard, TSA, US Border Patrol, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, US Marshals, WSP, FBI, and the US Secret Service have all participated in the past. A lot of them will bring equipment, as well, and the you and the kids can check them out too for a hands-on experience!

"Depends on what you want to do. If you want to watch helicopters arrive, be there around 7:30. If you want to talk to Keith, be there at 8:30. If you want to get a helicopter ride, line up by 9:30. If you just want to get close with the aircraft and vehicles, it opens at 10. If you want to see the Coast Guard get honored (Edgar MCing), be there by 1. If you want to talk to Edgar, be there by 2"

Youth Fitness Expo at Comcast Arena in Everett - Saturday, May 14th from 9am-6pm
Check out the huge Youth Fitness Expo for everything health and fitness related for kids. The first 500 kids will get a free sports pack. Plus, their will be drawings for prizes like event tickets, summer camps and magazine subscriptions to name a few. Sounds cool!

Clare Meeker, author of "Soccer Dreams: Playing Soccer the Sounders FC Way", will be on stage at Noon followed by a book signing opportunity at the University Book Store Booth.
