75TH ANNUAL DERBY DAYS WITH BIKE RACES, PANCAKE BREAKFAST, MOVIE, FIREWORKS, CARNIVAL, MUSIC PERFORMANCES INCLUDING RECESS MONKEY AND MORE IN REDMOND - TONIGHT, JULY 10TH (FREE MOVIE & CARNIVAL (FEE) UNTIL 11PM) AND ENDING WITH FIREWORKS ON SATURDAY, JULY 11TH 2015









We try to do this every year...lots of fun! Some things free, some for a fee.



" Redmond Derby Days is a summer festival, rooted in the spirit of competition; that celebrates the uniqueness of Redmond through parades, races, contests, game booths, carnival rides, arts, music, food and much more! It all started in 1940 as a bike derby and parade for the community to raise money for holiday decorations and athletic equipment. Today, Derby Days celebrates Redmond's diverse community and offers all ages a chance to participate in a fun summer festival setting. Happy 75th Birthday Derby Days! "

Seattle Bike Show (Plus the Travel Trips and Adventures Expo!) with demos, performances, a classic bike show, speakers, special appearances, a 250 foot indoor zipline and more at CenturyLink Field Event Center in Seattle - Saturday and Sunday, February 28th and March 1st 2015 from 10am-5pm (until 4pm on Sunday!) - "Less than a Latte" each with adults $10 each and kids 17 and under FREE!





Take the kids (for free!) and check out all things bike related at the Seattle Bike Show! 




" Standout features at the Seattle Bike Show include:

  • Pump Jam, powered by Sweetlines, brings the mountain biking experience indoors for all ages and abilities; this pump track is hosted by world-class mountain bike rider and nationally certified coach, Kat Sweet, founder of Sweetlines.  Helmets are provided for fun and safety.

  • The Performance Area featuring mountain bike professional and stunt rider, Ryan Leach, professional cyclist and author 'Bobke' Roll,the SnoValley Unicycle Club and others.
  • “Two-wheeled eye candy” at the Classic Bike Show, a rare display of some of the most spectacular and historic bikes in the country.Lovingly preserved in original condition, or miraculously restored, it’s a must-see display for biking enthusiasts and neophytes alike. 

Guest speakers and presenters include Stephanie Sims, “Exploring the International Selkirk Loop”; former STP Director Will Chin, “STP Orientation – Preparing for the Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic”; Obliteride Exective Director Amy Lavin and guests, “The Power of Two Wheels”; Erik Moen, PT, a national authority on bicycle biomechanics and injury intervention and prevention, and others. "

Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day with a Jump Jam show, games, obstacle course and more at Duthie Hill Park in Issaquah - Saturday, October 4th 2014 from 10am-3pm






" What’s more fun than Take Your Child to Work Day? Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day!
For many years Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance and Cascade have partnered together to make this amazing day a reality. Last year almost 200 kids and adults turned out for a day of exploring the trails at King County’s Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park in Issaquah.
This year's event will include trail riding, an obstacle course for the little ones, an exciting jump show from local and pro riders, a barbecue, and tons of prizes! It’s a terrific way to get kids outside in the woods having fun on bikes. All ages are welcome – from tots to teens – they just need a working bike and helmet to participate.
So bring your kids, your neighbor’s kids, or your friends with kids and come ride bikes on the trails with us. "

2014 Seattle Bicycle Expo with a kids fun zone, performances and more - Saturday, March 1st 2014 from 9am until 4pm on Sunday, March 2nd 2014 - "Less than a Latte" each for a family of four with kids ages 15 and under!





They will have a cool kids fun zone plus some cool demos and performances to check out!

10th Annual Sustainable Ballard with music, games, workshops, exhibits and lots more! - Sunday, September 29th 2013 from 11am-6pm

9th Annual Tanner Jeans Memorial Bike Safety Rodeo with more Free Fun! - Saturday, June 1st 2013 from 11am-3pm


We posted about this last year and this year they have added even more free fun to the event! What a great way to honor their son and educate children on bike safety.


" It’s that time of year to remind kids about bike safety and have fun doing it. The Tanner Jeans Memorial Bike Safety Rodeo will be on Saturday, June 1, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is located on the backside of Cascade View Elementary School, 34816 SE Ridge Street and the adjacent Snoqualmie Community Park parking lot.

The Tanner Jeans Memorial Bike Safety Rodeo is a commemoration of seven-year-old Tanner Jeans who was in a tragic bicycle accident in 2004. This event is dedicated to keeping every child safe through bike safety education.

New activities this year include a bicycle parade and performances by the Mount Si High School cheer squad and the Snoqualmie Valley Unicycle Club. All kids can join the parade by lining up at 10:45 a.m. in front of the Snoqualmie Community Center/YMCA on SE Ridge St. "

All of the following activities are free!
  •  Obstacle courses with bike safety instruction by the Snoqualmie Police Department
  •   Bike helmets inspections; replacement helmets will be provided to those children whose helmet does not pass inspection
  •   Professional bike inspections 
  • Kids bicycle parade – 10:45 a.m. 
  •  Performance by the Mount Si High School Cheer Squad at 12:45 p.m. followed by
    the Snoqualmie Valley Unicycle Club 
  •  Bike stunts by Compass Outdoor Adventures, Snoqualmie Dirt Corps, and Gregg’s
  •   T-shirts and safety certificates for all kids 
  •  Hot dogs, beverages and snacks all day 
  • Bouncy houses and face painters
  •  Legends Car Club antique cars

Seattle Bike Expo at Smith Cove Cruise Terminal 91 - Sunday, March 10th 2013 from 10am-4pm - "Less than a Latte" each for a family of four with kids age 15 and under!




Hey - didn't post this yesterday because I misread it and thought that I couldn't put it in the "Less than a Latte" each category. But, hey, I can!

For kids there will be a treasure hunt, bike art table, bike carnival with games, plus a wheelie fun stunt course for kids 10 and under!

Adults are $10 each and kids 15 and under are FREE. So, split the difference for a family of four and you've got "Less than a Latte" each!

Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day!


" Come celebrate Take a Kid MTB Day with Cascade's Trips for Kids program and Evergreen. This year's event will include trail riding, an obstacle course for the little ones, and a sick a jump show from local and pro riders.

Gregg's Cycles will be hosting a free BBQ and their professional mechanics will assist with minor maintenance. Plus kids can win tons of prizes!

Bring your kids, your neighbors kids, or your friends with kids and come ride bikes with us. "

Parking: please park at the LDS Church lot and ride up to the Clearing

There will be a table in the LDS lot and another one up in the clearing. Everyone riding a bike must sign a waiver, including parents and volunteers.

Where the parking lot becomes a lawn party!

Free Indoor Summer Playpark with Inflatables, trikes and more at Magnuson Community Center - Thursday, August 30th 2012 from 9am-1:30pm


Head to Magnuson Community Center's Indoor Playpark! Tomorrow is the last one of their summer version and there will be inflatables, trikes, cars, games, toys and more!

Located in the Magnuson Community Center's gym.
