12th librarian to make some noise at Seattle's Central Library Sunday!

" The 12th Librarian will likely make some noise when The Seattle Public Library shows the Big Game between the Seahawks and Broncos at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Microsoft Auditorium. Everyone is welcome. There is no admission. Doors open for seating at 2:30 p.m. Seats are available on a first come, first served basis. The auditorium can accommodate about 275 people.

Although the Central Library closes at 6 p.m. on Sunday, people in the auditorium will be allowed to stay until the game concludes. The rest of the Library will close at 6 p.m.

"The Library is a great place for information, education and recreation," said City Librarian Marcellus Turner. "We thought it would be fun to have the game on for our patrons, particularly those who don't have ready access to a television. I'm sure there will be patrons working or studying in the building who will appreciate the opportunity to take a break and watch part of the game, as well as parents and who are using the Library with their children."

He added that "no one will be shushed" for cheering.

The Library will provide football-shaped cookies and free Seahawk promotional items (limited numbers). Library staff members will get into the spirit by wearing their Seahawks jerseys. For more information, call the Library at 206-386-4636. "
