Sponge Presents Free Japanese Cultural Event for Families: Setsubun, New Year’s Bean-Throwing Festival in Bellevue - Saturday, February 1st 2014 from 2-4pm - RSVP!

" Sponge invites families to a free cultural event in February at its center in Bellevue, to celebrate the Japanese tradition of Setsubun. For Setsubun, we throw fuku mame (fortune beans) at the ogre Oni to drive away bad luck and welcome good fortune. Come make an Oni mask, throw beans at funny ogres, eat Japanese snacks and enjoy a free children’s Japanese language mini-class. "
