Good news!...(and some mentions of some future posts!)...

My Dear Readers-

Ok. Good News! I will now have more time to devote to FreePlay Kids and all of you!

I have had a lot of personal changes behind the scenes the last two months so, if you, my readers, having been feeling a little neglected lately, I apologize.

First, I started a new job (one with income - LOL) working 35-60 hrs a week but hoping to keep it around the 40 hr. per week mark. And yes, I will still be able to do the blog too!

Secondly, I FINALLY took care of several doctor appts and follow ups that I have neglected for myself the past 4 years while taking care of my son. I may write a post about "mamas, make sure to take care of yourself WHILE taking care of your child".

Thirdly, and most importantly, I had to research, tour and switch schools for my son this past month as the staff, atmosphere and overall well-being changed to the negative side. I loved the school last year as he had a wonderful Principal and a phenomenal teacher. The principal was let go, most of the teachers left and although hopeful for this year, was sadly disappointed as I witness some things that were not appropriate for the emotional well-being of 3 and 4 year olds. Nothing happened directly to my son, but it was not the kind of atmosphere I wanted him in and indirectly, I think it was affecting him as well. Some other parents also witnessing these things, took their kids out of school or are in the process of switching schools. I might write a post about "your not so typical red flags of a potentially inappropriate class or school". At any rate, I got him into a well-received school with great recommendations, great communication, great attention to detail, one that nurtures the whole child-not just academically, is community oriented, and has beloved teachers that have stayed with the school! That will be one of the red flags in the future post...how long has each teacher been with the school. Not a great sign when ALL of the summer camp teachers become the main teachers for the new school year. But at any rate, I am off the emotional rollercoaster of trying to change schools and make it as seamless as possible for my son.

And lastly, now that my son is going to his new school 30 hours per week (and liking it so much he isn't rushing out the door to leave-another red flag) I will have more time to devote to my 2nd baby, FreePlay Kids!

I will still do all the posts about all of the FREE stuff but will throw in some here and there about homemade fun, favorite places, resources and more!

Hope all of you are doing well and looking forward to the holidays!

Now go and play!

Holly :-)
